Global illumination is cranked up to eleven by default and there's no option to turn it down or off unless you use the mod.

Everyone who plays it should use it, even those who can run it without it. It fixes crashes and provides a correct frame limiter among other things.

The game just scraped by in terms of funding as it is, the fact that we have it is a blessing.

Now what's easier, optimizing for a single configuration or two (consoles)

Almost everything runs badly on PS4, as such it's simply the norm and not something to make a big deal about. When most of the shit you get runs at non-interactive movie FPS like <30FPS you probably won't notice if a game drops from 60 to 45.
