A game where you have to shop for items in a large, intricate mall in the middle of a large scale terrorist attack/hostage situation. Warring states Harvest Moon.

RPG elements as the global story unfolds, possibly culminating with everyone setting aside their differences to farm together to defeat the main villain.

Also, you can dress up your loli and good lolis who keep the bad lolis in check are rewarded with headpats.

Damage Control
You have to contain or stop disasters happening in a building or area while saving as many people as you can. Basically plays similarly to the AI in SS13, Opening and closing doors, activating vents, controlling automated turrets, keeping nuclear reactors online, turning on lights to guide survivors, leading Military into areas with enemies and away from survivors so they don't kill them too, using the sound system to lure enemies away or to inform other survivors of issues only they can fix and all that jazz.

XCOM with gangstas as the paramilitary force

Rank is determined by varied skill use, damage given and taken, speed, etc.
This would encourage the player to actually play the game instead of mashing a.

Halo MMO where you can either play as the UNSC, or Covenant.
Takes place on a single Halo ring, the entire installation is exploreable.
The goal of the game if you play as the UNSC is to either destroy the ring, or destroy all the Covie ships.
The Covenant's goal is to activate the ring or destroy all the human ships.
The Flood is imprisoned on the ring somewhere and if it gets released has the potential to actually wipe both factions out. if it's not contained.
Both factions can recover Forerunner artifacts to upgrade their gear and ship defenses, some are small enough to fit in your inventory, but others are so big they need vehicle to carry them.
When the objective of a faction is met, the game resets and the locations of important facilities on the ring are randomized so nobody can just rush to the control room or Flood prison at the start of every new round.

I'd love to have a decent H. P. Lovecraft inspired game that doesn't involve chthulhu

>A game where you play as an HPL look-alike Randolph Carter
>Your nights are plagued by nightmares and sleep paralysis
>Every night you get a glimpse of wondrous places in the dreamlands like Celephais and Serannian just before waking up
>To reach the dreamlands you must find the silver key
>The Mi-go are also searching for the key and your brain
>They want to learn how humans dream to reach the dreamlands themselves
>They are doing this for Nyarlathotep who is trying to make everyone go insane through dreams

Alternatively

>A game where you play as Walter de la Poer
>Your crazy cannibal family is trying to summon Shub-Niggurat in the underground ruins beneath your estate
>You must stop their ritual and kill every single one of them
>>
>>389485764

Police force.

You can have a governmental setup.
This game should have player freedom.

If someone does bad to you
You can always get them back

Or prison

The game would not be as good if this was not a part of the game.

Every action will have a repercussion
That is where the chaos ends

Day One Patch
A management game with 'permadeath' mechanics, broken up with rapid-fire minigames.
You are the boss of a small team of devs who are given the task of fixing all of a game's bugs ten minutes (real time) before it launches.
You manage your devs by assigning them tasks based on their individual skills, energy, and sanity.
Meanwhile, you can also speed up the patch's progress by playing wario ware styled minigames to reveal and correct glitches yourself.
Devs with low energy work slower and even fall asleep, HR tazes them for a small energy boost and heavy sanity drop. To combat low energy, you can give a dev a break to drink coffee (limited supply, extra coffee can be bought between levels with credits). If you make a dev drink too much coffee, their energy bar gets overcharged, but if you do this too often, the dev will spontaneously combust and detroy their station and their neighbours' station, detrimentally damaging the patch's progress.
Devs with no sanity trash their station, destroying their work, and end up fired/shipped off to the loony bin. The player can raise sanity by either giving the dev a break at the same time as another dev, or the rest of the day off.
Devs that 'survive' the day can have credits spent on them to specialise their skills or increase their attributes.
The player can also purchase extra coffee, office decor, plan a pizza party to boost sanity in the midst of pizza-fueled work, or hire massage therapists, shrinks, and better HR to provide better buffs for the whole team.
'Dead' devs do not return, and new devs cost a flat rate of credits to hire.

Darwinian Driving.
Donut steel as I plan to make this one day :^)
Procedurally-generated tracks. You create a kart at the start of a lap, race the kart avoiding hazards and battling each other etc, and when all players finish a lap, they make adjustments to their kart. The player to complete the set number of laps with the quickest aggregate time wins. Or the kart could evolve based on player habits, or that could be another game mode. I'll figure it out someday.

>When all evolution based game ideas are actually emulating intelligent design because they require agency.
This triggers me.
>>
An MMO with combat and a combo system that's similar to 3D fighting games instead of relying on mp skills. Mobs come at you like a beat em up; sorta like Tekken 3s Tekken Force Mode, except less linear
>>
>>389495525
Hey man, when I ascend my position as head ideas man and figure out a way to code evolution, I'll turn that into a kart game, but this is the best I got. It's really just Mario Kart x Besiege masquerading as an evolution-based kart game anyways.
>>
>>389495825
I was thinking of a evolution-like game where you influence the environment in order to create procedural generated objects to solve puzzles.
Still runs into the same problem with an agency, but its closer. Idk, it would be like if physics games had you manually drag objects towards the ground to emulate gravity.
>>
>>389495825
>figure out a way to code evolution
you get a random change to your car every lap
if your time is better than your previous lap, you keep the random change and get another one
if your time is worse than your previous lap, the change is replaced by a different change
>>
>>389496121
That actually sounds like a neat idea, if you could program the properties of some of the more amazing materials in nature, you could come up with some really unique puzzles. Could even be educational.
>>389496526
I wouldn't want the changes to be random though, but I've thought about that. I'd like them in someway to be influenced by the actions of the player if possible, but honestly, I wouldn't mind just having a bunch of different modes, with this being one of them. Tracks changing randomly was also another idea.
>>
>>389496915
evolution is random mutations miraculously giving things an advantage. rng is the only way to code evolution. its shit game design, but thats how youd have to do it
>>
>>389480471
underrated
>>
Pokemon MMO but it's not Pokemon. Give me ur monie.
>>
>>389497109
It doesn't have to be a pure representation of evolution, I would make concessions when the game would otherwise suffer, but as I said, I would probably have a bunch of game modes, with a completely random madness mode, kuje what you described earlier.
>>
>>389497109
Pretty much this- if you wanted to do it 'right' it would just be ceaseless frustration for the sake of novelty.
