The new expansion legitimately lacked content. This is a valid complaint. Realm Reborn and Heavensward had much more content and released new stuff a lot faster with patches.

In Stormblood once you get to level cap, which doesn't take long at all, all you have to do is 3 primals, 1 raid, a hard mode version of that same raid, and daily roulettes where you redo the same dungeons you've been playing since ARR

Honestly the endgame is the worst right now than it's been in a long time

That doesn't invalidate the argument when I have sound critique against it. The game goes out of its way to gate you and impede your playtime. You only have one lockout of Savage every week. Beyond that, the only other thing there is to do is Roulettes. Leveling alternate classes is pointless because you can't use them in Savage, and what point is there flexing your ability on trivial fights? Gear? You don't even need gear to progress.

If I were to pick the game up right now and start a new account, get to 70 without any other experience in the game, I'd run into a wall after two weeks of time, maybe less if I were good at the game. Once you have a basic level of gear (320) you can clear everything in the game.

Warcraft takes a lot more time to hit that hard cap, but it's bad for different reasons and not those related to FUNDAMENTAL DESIGN PROBLEMS.

The most freedom I've actually ever experienced in an MMO. All levels are synced at all times so no content or zone is ever left behind, the ability to do any content you want in any order you want, and the fact that you literally never have to group up to progress and you can play skyrim with other people if you want.
There is no auction house, this keeps Jews from ruining the economy. All quests are fully voiced and well done. the soundtrack is gorgeous and the game is comfy. There is no fetch quest shit in the MSQ and I mean that. You will never be forced to the waking sands over and over.
Crafted gear can and has been BiS, and the community frankly isn't full of degenerates. Also no eyesore overdone Japanese models.

Except it shows in the game's design. There's zero attunements, there's zero waiting in regards to class quests, the extent of lockouts is the daily tomestone grind that you can finish in under 2 hours. Rep grind in beast tribes is wholly optional, you can more or less gear several classes with the same gear set if you're not a certain two melee roles.

After you made it to 200 the first time you're just either farming exp or farming drops. And honestly you say it's more interesting but most floors are fucking boring until 170+ where you have monsters who could actually be a threat. I'll tell you, POTD isn't known for "that really hard dungeon people run for the challenge" it's the exp spam on 50-60

I wish I could like ESO I really do. I keep going back to it and trying to complete the next zone but good god i get so bored doing the same delves and the same 50 "save the town!" quests in each zone that all meld together. Maybe one day I'll go back and only focus on the main quests of each zone and ignore the rest.

Bruh there's zero fucking depth to FF combat and you're lying to yourself if you think otherwise for the reasons I mentioned above. Memorizing a rotation is something you do while watching Netflix.
