It would definitely take a lot of effort. They'd need to write in dialogue for dates, the wedding, spouse dialogue, etc. Also she has no 3D model for her humanoid form so they'd either have to make that from scratch or you'd have some very ridiculous scenes.

I liked it for the gameplay, particularly 3 and 4. Those low poly characters dashing around and the bouncy items you can toss about are so enjoyable to me. I doubt an indie knockoff can replicate that even if they got "everything else" right.

There's only a detail, you need to start the game as Lest, everything including the text is changed to Frey version, but your character's voice will still be male, use the save editor at GBAtemp to enable Extra Orders early game, so you can change it to the girl's voice. Also, if you let him, Vishnal will still call you a "Prince", but you can deny him if you don't want to.

The completely and totally random interactions between villagers and random NPCs helped too. I don't mean voiced stuff or things with dialogue. Just them meeting on the street, text bubble above their head with an emoticon and a reaction. You can fill in what was said in your head and how you're going to kill Dolce for talking to your husband, how dare he talk to another girl. Removing the damned harpy is the only option.

I didn't expect RF4 to be as good as it is. The designs are kinda bland coming from 2+3, but I see the writing has improved. Do miss some gimmicks from 3, but overall what a nice game. Can't believe the series died with 4 despite decent sales.
