Game that you love but no one talks about it
>>389450915
I like asshole characters like Mint.
>>389450915
I remember some npc telling you to equip as many belts as possible.
Was it from this game?
>>389450915
Playstation era was such a magical time, you could try almost any game and most of the time it was at least interesting and enjoyable. What did she mean by this?
>>389452449
Well when I feel my stomach is acting up, barfing is a good way to relieve it. Maybe that's what she means.
By the way I see this game posted more often than not in these "nostalgia" threads, is it actually a case of nostalgia and the game is bad?
>>389452449
Yeah because at that time creators still try hard to make games with good and unique gameplay. These days, everything came down to which one has better graphics.
Maybe she got seasick or something and barfing solve the problem?
>>389450915
Great graphics and soundtrack, if it weren't so fully aimed at small children it could have been a classic
>>389450915
>mentioned it in a PS1 recommendation thread
>get told it was shit
>>389452449
Agreed with this. There were so many companies trying new things during the N64/PS1 era as 3D console games grew. Lots of those experiments were fun. Not to mention the multitude of RPGs (action, turn based, strategy) that came from it.
As for games that don't get discussed enough, Tail Concerto, because people rather talk about the sequel and post furry.
>>389453515
I still think its a good game compared to most of generic games today, at least from Rue's part of the story.
Its zelda like adventure, but the mc cant transform to any monster he fought to solve puzzles. I think no game ever made like this.
>>389452449
I have a massive soft spot for ps1 era jrpgs.
They look janky as fuck now - but to me they are comfy as fuck, regardless of how much they must look aids to teens these days,
Threads of Fate is fucking outstanding.
>>389450915
My nigga. I never got around to finishing it. I wonder if I'll even know what I'm doing when I turn it back on.
>>389451150
Mint is my favorite vidya MC, Rue is pretty bland though
Doll Master's boss theme was tits too
>>389451889
This game takes a lot of my time as a child. Its a solid tcg. The only downside is there are OP wonder 7 cards. Is the tcg in real life have same gameplay like this?
Why arent it more popular?
>>389450915
>mfw proper sequel never came out
>>389450915
Chameleon twist on N64. I remembered going to some video rental store and it was in the dumpster "nobody even rents this shit just take it" bin for like 5 dollars. I randomly did for shits and it was a really fun and unique game. I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about it in any capacity, I doubt many people even know it existed.
Lufia 2, Grandia 2, Breath of Fire 4
>>389454213
I think Rue's gameplay>Mint's though
>>389450915
Im stuck at the tower where id always return at the sameplace. Left the game and still couldnt figutre out how to solve that
>>389450915
I played that game so many times during my childhood. That and Brave Fencer Musashi, I guess I was already a weeb at that age. I found that it has a fangame as well, pretty cool.
>>389454478
Breath of Fire used to get quite a few threads before that one furfag started spamming them all
>>389454558
Sell me on this game. Once thought of buying it.
>>389450915
I post this game every time someone asked for underrated game.
I'm glad /v/ loved it and never shittalks about it.
probably cause they are underage and never played the game before.
here's another great game
>>389450915
terranigma, brave story, radiata stories
>>389455753
is this the game where you actually had to use sunlight to do things? I remember reading about that long time ago in some gamer magazine
>>389454478
Grandia 2 probably has better gameplay but I just like Grandia 1's story and setting so much more. The optimism and feeling of adventure are amazing.
>>389456126
Yeah, the DS one removed that but kept the mechanics so it was all in game. You didn't have to go outside with a gameboy and charge the cartridge.
DS one was pretty fun.
>>389454858
>Fan game
Twin princess or something, right? By the same people that did Reccetear I believe. I played it as well, it was okay. I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone but I'm glad it exists and it's not bad or anything.
>Brave Fencer Musashi
Gonna kiss you now anon. Cmon, pucker up.
>>389456313
>>389456454
That's the boy. I remember the pumpkin ability was super OP
It's pretty rough around the edges but the game is filled with so much character that I'm surprised people aren't at least a little more aware of its existence.
the real hero of this game is the localization
they added a lot of character and gags, almost yu-yu hakusho level shit talk in there.
It was 10/10
>>389450915
I still can't believe there was no sequel.
Also, why was there such a bigger selection of games back then?
I have probably 100 ps1 and ps2 games and I can look at them all and remember enjoying every one. I can put any of them in and still love playing it.
Now I have like 10 ps4 games and I hate half of them
>>389456558
Doesn't help that it wasn't released in the US
>>389456558
That game was made by Vanpool which was formed by members of the now defunct Love de Lic. Find Taro Kudou or Yoshiro Kimura. All their games are full of character.
>>389450915
I was a total idiot and I didn't think attack damage upgrades would make my magic any stronger. I got through the whole game almost exclusively using Mint's drop kick for 15 damage a hit. I just thought the game was supposed to be absurdly hard. Especially the boss fight against Duke and Super Hexagon on the rim of the volcano because those assholes can infinite combo you so many different ways.
>>389457867
Lucky you it's getting a remake or something
>>389457924
I saw. Judging by the devs past projects and what they've shown so far, I dont have high hopes of it actually being good at all.
>>389450915
Mint was cute a fuck, before I even knew what a tsundere was.
>>389453787
It WAS shit though, anon. I bought every Atlus game for a while as a teenager because I was retarded and this was furry fapbait with clunky gameplay and shit story. Nothing was good about this abomination, I couldn't even force myself to enjoy it.
>>389455753
Boktai 1 and 2 were so fucking good. I thought I'd hate the gimmicky sunlight mechanic but going outside for boss fights so you could shoot a solar cannon through vampires you launched into space was fucking badass. Plus the general mechanics, environment, and combat were all fantastic.
I wasn't aware the Lunar Knights was actually a Boktai game. I've had a rom sitting on my desktop for a while, I guess it's time to play it.
