With the way Blizz designs zones nowadays, an even shittier version of the game

Played WoW for years and traveling around, exploring, was the best part of the game. As time went on it was really easy to spot who were new to the game (Wrathbabies) when flight started to get locked behind actually playing the game, rather than rushing it. Every complaint about "having to figure out which mountain to climb to get around" or similar were just underage faggots labeling themselves as such.

Even if it takes longer, even if it's not completely balanced, it is why I enjoyed classic more than any other expansion to the game. Even my nth time through.

Different guy here. For me, WoW entered its death throes in Cataclysm, when every vanilla zone was redone and streamlined so there were two major quest hubs in every area, and you could stack like four quests at a time - all in an effort to zoom you through to end game as fast as possible. The process of leveling lost all weight, so being max level no longer felt like such an accomplishment.

I'll cherish the memories I have from vanilla to Wrath, though. Ripping around with a lowbie in the sidecar of your chopper was hilarious, and I'd take my low level buddies flying around Outlands in the 2 person rocket just to see their reaction to the crazy zones.

There's nothing wrong with long journeys. But there should actually be something in the middle. That's one of the things that legion at least tried to remedy with the world quests. And they did a decent job. Instead of having vast expanses of shit you don't care about in between objectives you could stop and get yourself some AP or hope for a gear upgrade.

dude I remember in raiding ICC there were warriors rolling on rogue gear too because ARPEN was so over-powered. All the lazy-ass devs had to do was rebalance haste and crit ratings but instead you had warriors rolling on rogue gear left and right.

Man, I did the same thing when I hit 60. Some little mage noob about level 25 walked up, saw he was targeting me via target of target. He whispered something about my shoulders I think. Took a liking to him, bought him a full set of AH greens and gave him some gold to get started.

When he hit 40, he still needed about 40g for his apprentice mount, so I took him to the farm in Elwynn, gave him some gold for his training and bought him a horse. He was so happy and grateful, it was pretty amazing.

Good HoTs to help take off pressure from Priests. Druids were lackluster healers compared to Priests, but so was everyone else. Innervate was godly utility and so was combat rez.

performed perfectly fine in normal 5-15 man dungs like Scholo, Strath, Diremaul, U/LBRS. Raid tanking was possible with really good gear. Cat brought a nice DPS buff for the rest of the raid and boomkin was high DPS if you had really good gear.

Ferals are serviceable tanks that can double as okay DPS with the same build which can also still emergency heal and innervate, they're just trickier to gear and require a better understanding of the game to perform well. They're also great healers, about on par with (or better than) Shaman for MT healing. Even the odd Boomkin could consistently get a raid slot if they were dedicated enough.

Paladin on the other hand is an example of a truly shit class good for nothing but buffing the raid and spamming flash of light.

The game died when they removed ebin growth buff stacking.

Exploration and leveling in old WoW was literally the only reason I ever played the game. Going through higher level areas to get to the next town, being in an area with enemy players for the first time and planning your round trips for questing to not waste time were just awesome things to do.
