Great character writing. One of my favorite casts in video games. Terrible ending.

Honestly this and The Walking Dead are my two favorite modern point and click games. It starts off slow, but by the end of the third episode you become pretty invested in the story.

Its fucking garabge, time rewind mechanic is fucking tedious too. If you even consider playing this series go for "Before the storm" instead.

Interesting enough story and mechanics. Characters are pretty likeable but if you don't like high school drama or are easily triggered by things you "millenial" like rage faces then it's not for you. It isn't really challenging, it's more akin to a telltale game. (or is it literally telltale? idk)

Mildly interesting premise ruined with the shit plot, devs pushed the "choices matter" meme, frequently cringeworthy dialogue.

That being said, the soundtrack and aesthetic fit well, and character interactions are pretty engaging at times. If you like Telltale style games, it's definitely worth a try, but I can't guarantee you'll like it.

I went into it with bo expectations having NEVER played games like this before and found i really enjoyed it. The characters, the aesthetics, THE SOUNDTRACK both licenced and orginal, the characters were comfy, the setting was rustic and felt good. I invested myself into it and was sad when it was over. I didn't see it coming, when things took such a dark turn after episode 4, so i was shocked desu.

I don't know what to call a thing like LiS but it malde me feel a lot of things. I was glad to see the universe return wih Before the Storm. I didn't like Chloe, then a sexond playthrough she grew on me, now with BtS im on team Chloe, she is sometimes a little bastard, but there was more to her than just misery, she is actually her own person, smart but self destructive, and very sweet, It turns out.

My honest opinion is i like it OP.

I like him enough, i don't think he will always be a loser, in fact i think if he survives the storm he will be a better 20 year old man, than he was an 18 year old boy. I played ep 1. It's not fun, it's entertaining. Basically an interactice movie. The gameplay for each episode is like 30 minutes.

It's really a turn-your-brain-off game because there's no challenge, you can't win or lose (yes I know the ending, that's still not losing). You can't be a better LiS player than someone else simply because it has no skill. Which is fine, I still enjoyed it. Not everything has to revolve around skill and difficulty. I like listening to music and looking at sculptures, neither of those has any difficulty. Think of it more like a movie.

The dialogue is atrocious, it's like someone googled "how do teens talk". "Epic win" kys.

I'll try to explain why I don't like this game without memeing, or linking E;R's video.

I don't like Life is Strange, mostly because it's another game in the "we want to do what TellTale succeeds at doing" genre of games. The characters I personally find to be very bland, and the dialouge is also pretty unrealistic and most likely to written by 30 year olds. Who honestly thinks teens say "shacka lacka" or "wowzer"?

The game is about making the right choices, but the only choice in the game that actually matters is the final one where you have to choose between saving the bay or saving Chloe. literally the ONLY choice in the game that makes a difference.

Other than that the art style and music are nothing special, world isn't interesting and non of it feels engaging.

I guess it depends on your age... For me, i dig the concept, and the mechanics. I despise how the characters interact with eachother, with all the "hella's" and the cringefest that is Clohe. Maybe it's just because I'm an old fart myself. The whole hipster setting, "look how original and unique we are.", the edginess. That played a major role against my enjoyment of this game.

That's because Chloe's angst over her dead dad and being ultimately alone in the world is something actually shown in the game with her being a cunt to everyone, it's also a far more relatable feeling.

Crying because a friend we never saw or interacted with, and who Chloe seems to be mostly fine without doesn't ring out.

I've been saying it, the new game is actually better than the first one, because it's actually about something. Whereas Max didn't really have anything to do with everything happening in the first game (aside from the Tornado, which was only relevant in the last half of the last episode.)
