Correct. People who think it is okay to slowly whittle down health with a pea shooter and then claim their class is strong sicken me. Mage is WEAK. Fighter punch things, things die fast. That's a strong character.

Best lategame weapon and poison flasks are a decent way of dealing with Centaurs. Firestorm is fairly mediocre but usable.

It's a great series, but flawed. Heretic has enemies with too much HP, and the Hellstaff is underpowered for how rare its ammo is.
Hexen has uneven weapon balance, with some weapons such as the Cleric's mace being so weak that using them is prohibitively tedious.
The monsters' visual design, and the aesthetics and atmosphere generally, are great in in both Heretic and Hexen.

Frost Shards creates those ice statues that get in the way. It gets really annoying after a while.

Firestorm is amazing when it works properly. Those little flames that spawn around the monster you attack are what deal the real damage but most of the time they don't hit anything.

Hexen does something novel by adding new tech onto the old engine.
Sequels are weaker than the originals.
Hexen > Heretic > Hexen 2 > Heretic 2
