The inability to save outside of beds is 90% of the challenge - I can't simply save before every fight and redo for free. And the weight limits have been kinda challenging. And atm I don't have chemist or a means to heal diseases, so they're fucking my shit up. I'm sure by level 20-30 it won't matter much, but I've had a good time so far.

I'm about 30 hours in, and mine only say things like "thank you so much for this opportunity", "you've done so much for us", or "i don't want any trouble"/"you look dangerous". So I'm not sure what you're talking about.

But again, the voiced protag makes role-playing basically impossible - but I've gotten some from making certain settlers Mary Sue and giving them unique weapons and rooms.

I was a senior in high school when they first announced it, and I can vividly remember how fucking audacious it seemed at the time.

But, this was before developers started selling $50 "season passes" where you buy mystery content, hoping that you haven't just been scammed. I didn't realize how prevalent this had become until I got a PS4 last month. I can't claim clairvoyance regarding FO4, but I was already on the fence about sticking with the Fallout franchise after FO3 I don't care if you liked it, I didn't, and so that factored into what comes next. I did buy Skyrim, but I waited for the Legendary Edition to go on sale for $11. After wringing as much (or as little) enjoyment as I could from it, I had the feeling that anything Bethesda would offer from now on would be similarly small in scale, and narrow in vision.

Skyrim was the final nail in the coffin for me. I decided, no matter how good it looked, I would wait for FO4 to be released in its entirety, and be heavily discounted before I would bother with it. Turns out, it's shallow, uninteresting, and has base building mechanics that are done better in early access trash.

The Creation Club is just icing on the cake for me. I'm done with Bethesda, done with Fallout, and done with TES. It was okay while it lasted.

except with the hard limit of 4000 record changes in the .esl format, quest mods that are more than the typical radiant "go here, kill this guy" shit is impossible. Automatron is about 50,000 record changes. The free hellfire power armor is about 2,200(ish?). We will not see DLC sized content on the CC or anything close to it unless this technical limitation is worked around or patched/fixed.

You know what they could have done? They could have sold a $14.99 or so toolkit to help people build mods themselves. It'd be optional, and a nice learning tool for people getting into the modding scene the first time around. It would have gotten them a quick buck without intruding onto the normal modding scene.

Except every update to fallout4 breaks shit, which certainly does impact gameplay. Ignoring the fact that mods and the health of mods are more important than the mediocre gameplay in bethesda titles and all the other stuff.

If it weren't for the fact that the DMCA and other relevant acts for software are incredibly abusable and full of legal holes which allow for ridiculous things like using light bulbs not made by a specific manufacturer in a lamp illegal as long as there's a tiny bit of software there would be a serious case for a class action suit against SEGA for pulling what they did with denuvo.
Likewise, because kickstarters do not legally guarantee anything, mighty no9 was able to get away with scamming customers, had this been non-software, there would have been class action suits filed.
