the game is nice and requires you changing tactics and builds depending on the battle/challenge you face. the slowdowns when docked are very annoying and it fucking gorges on the battery of the switch. Also, stop putting so many spaces between lines, you reddit.

It's a legit fun game. Its linear from battle to battle and level to level, with very little allowance for sidestepping and exploring. the rabbids are toned down, and the music and visuals are fantastic. The game does punish you for nothing using proper combos and weapons on enemies. you can find yourself restarting a battle 5-6 times as you learn to navgiate the maps, enemies and your team skills and weapons

clever AI. the game relies on WILL HIT, WONT HIT, MIGHT HIT. you wont see that coin flip 99% loss as you do on xcom. You also see percentage before positioning. If you lose, its because you didnt plan out properly and an enemy out played you. also, enemies position themselves to give each other stronger attacks

Ive restarted a few times because I wasnt sure if id be able to go for the perfect.

Also, I screwed up a few times and got one party member down. The game is brilliant tho. For a sequel Id like a hard mode, and even more challenges that make you think outside the box. Seriously figuring out how to kill a bunch of enemies in 1 turn was fun.

Pretty sure that restriction is for cutscene animations because they wanted to have most of the cutscenes represent the characters you have in your party at that moment and a lot of them necessitate a rabbid doing something stupid.

Also 3 sources of overwatch would be so fucking broken. Mario and Luigi by themselves are fairly OP as it is, add on Yoshi and you could probably kill most bosses a good 2 turns earlier.

Healing is way too weak when the bros plus R mario(or R yoshi for "reach area" levels" can just burst through everything so fast you don't take meaningful damage.

mario getting a couple crits with shoot + 2 overwatch shots will kill pretty much everything except a smasher or a barricade rabbid and those guys have such short range that you've made them no longer a threat for 2 turns anyway while you deal with any other nearby enemies

fire has its uses but it's too unreliable, I stopped using it after an enemy ran across the map and bumped into luigi and knocked him out of cover. I don't think I ever saw an enemy collide with another enemy with it in my time using it

Is it worth the 60 bucks? I'm a nintenbro but do I need it?

Bought it day one and still didn't play it just because I want to finish Zelda first. I really hope it's as good as it looked on the trailers and how people praise it - I don't care if it's Rabbits, as long as some of the humour works and the fights are a bit challenging, it'll be perfect comfy game for me.

Now the only thing I need is Wario, Waluigi, Daisy and their Rabbit counterparts. And a beach setting level with Peach and Daisy fighting in bikinis.
