I only watched the anime and it's absolutely astonishing to me how anyone can approach this story like a mystery. It's a silly LN-type story with zero grounding in reality even before all the supernatural shit (which may or may not be real).

Umineko never was about the horror. It's just an enjoyable ride with some silly edgy characters, depressing moments, magic, mystery and a bomb.

Your whole post either means you didn't read Umineko past Tome 4 or you didn't understand any of it.
Umineko, while flawed at times (tome 4 and 8 come to mind) has an overall excellent writing.
