To properly clone with the technology we have now (and especially in the 70s), you need DNA from the person you want to clone, donated eggs, and a surrogate. I'm not gonna lie, it was disappointing that Eli being on Mother Base went absolutely nowhere. I was kind of hoping that Venom would try to act as a father figure to Eli where things actually turned out semi-okay, with Eli going from a rowdy preteen to a tough, charismatic and hammy future war hero and terrorist commander, with Venom openly musing about Outer Heaven to plant the idea for the future Shadow Moses uprising in his head, and topping it off by promising to pass on the title of Snake and suggesting Third Boy take up the codename Psycho Mantis and act as Eli's lieutenant. It would've made for a nice dynamic where Venom was the father Eli never had, and when Eli learns the truth, its the thing that makes him snap and despise Big Boss while trying to surpass him through the realization of a true Outer Heaven. Honestly, whenever Venom and Quiet started falling for each other, I was thinking they were going to eventually rescue and raise a young Sniper Wolf together, and with Liquid, Ocelot, Mantis, and Wolf together, it would be the birth of the Sons of Big Boss/Rogue FOXHOUND arc.

I honestly kind of doubt it. Venom may have been distant and psychologically disoriented from the brainwashing, but if he was one thing, he was caring. You have to factor in how hard Venom connected with people even going on so little. I just don't see the same guy who was emotionally devastated to the point of tasting ashes because he mercy-killed some talented mercenaries he abducted, turned over to Ocelot, and rarely saw again just cold-shouldering a disturbed kid who believes him to be his father, especially not when you factor in how long it took before the blood test came back.
