Try eating and getting some exercise and sunlight. I love cute games and all, but it's really fucking hard to be happy about anything when you're not taking care of your body.

Indeed, Forte is adorable. My favorite in that game

you could try monster hunter stories. It's easier than the main games but it's turn based. Cute stuff and there's a demo for the 3DS.
anons seem to like it.

I enjoy Fantasy Life. If you enjoy completing check lists and filling progress bars you might enjoy it as well.

Bravely Default also has a great demo and was the first turn based game in a long time that I enjoyed. Playing the demo tot he end give you a good feel for how the actual game will be.

Probably because the end is fucking depressing. Game spends a shitload of time establishing how full and rich the land is that you're traveling around with a silly robot and music band only to have you kill off a few of its members because they're secretly leaders of Team Rocket because your old pal forced their brother/friend into suicide. Then in the aftermath you wave it all goodbye and have to actively seek out all the members to witness just how much they want to get away from it all

Then to top it all off the game plays this song at the credits
