Can anybody explain with definitive proof why it is this mission is raping my asshole?
>>389332605
Probably because you cant dodge missiles for shit.
Use your AA special weapons, high g-turn or what its called in FOL, and use your buddies.
>>389332753
I've been doing all those things with no luck. It's mainly that the enemy ships whittle me down with machine gun fire, and then I can never hit them with missiles because they're always looping. Should I destroy those refueling/ESM aircraft that tend to fuck off to the end of the map each time?
The Strigon Team is known to cheat by breaking the game's rules. Hold down on the D-pad. Use Rockets on the SU-33 if you're still having a hard time. Aim well.
>>389332985
Does the SU-33 have a good special for them or something?
>>389332846
Get fighter with XMA4/6 and keep your distance, XMA outranges machine guns kinda well, also focus on the big ships and fly fast, like sanic fast, hit and run is the way to go.
>>389333121
Rockets are good for taking out the large flying ships, just let your allies take the fighters out. It's the simplest way to do it. FAE bombs with the A-10 also work well, but then you're stuck in a slow plane with weapons that are difficult to aim.

I have my own question to add.
Why do the missiles in AC3 feel so different? It's hard not only for me to hit stuff with them but they also seem to hit me way more often. Plus more than once have I seen my missiles seemingly deflect away from their target when they get close.
I want to fight for the Erusean princess!
>>389332605
Because it fucking sucks. AC6's mission design is best summed up with [RADAR LOCK WARNING INTENSIFIES]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RisBAkC0x8
>>389335650
Even if she's evil and manipulating you for her personal gain?
>>389335880
<< YES >>
>>389335880
I like how we're already assuming Erusia is the bad guy again. They probably will be though.
>>389336313
Stonehenge is back, and there's no way something like that would be on the player's side.
>All that TECHNOLOGY in AC7
Can't wait. Do we know if VR will be available on PC?
>>389336581
I mean, if you bothered to google it, you'd know it's exclusive to PSVR. Either way, someone might mod it into the PC version, maybe even as a non-VR compatible mission type or could be put up as DLC or with an update after some time for PC.
Xboners are kinda screwed since idk of any way to do VR on Xbox. Unless, they finally decide to release that VR headset they were working on before 2050.
>>389337158
Microsoft's thing at the moment is AR, not VR. It's unlikely.
>>389336479
Fuck I forgot about that. I suppose you're right.
That being said what Superweapons do you want to see?
>>389337614
More lasers
>>389337771
Never enough lasers.
I'm hoping for something with Kestral II Honestly.
>>389332605
It's raping my shit too anon. I attempted it like fifteen times yesterday and discarding my failed attempts to fly through the Aigaion on the first approach every other time I was shot down by it when every other enemy had been defeated and only its core remained. Each time it happened so fast I have no idea what actually killed me.
Even without FAEB, using the A-10 unironically gave me both the best results and the most fun.
>>389333843

>>389338304
I'm sad that Tetsukazu Nakanishi apparently isn't coming back for AC7.
Of the NAMCO Sound Team that all collaborated on 04 and forward, he's my favorite. His synth sound is unique.
>>389338184
You talking about for the Aigaion mission?
>>389338067
I feel your pain anon. You don't even have the time to break away and try to land to undo the damage to your ship and resupply your ammo. 9 times out of 10 it's always miscellaneous machine gun fire that takes me out, the Strigon squadron cheats like motherfuckers.
>>389338490
Yeah. It's definitely a lot easier with the splash radii of bombs. Using Allied Assist or whatever it was called to help with the Strigon Team later offsets the handicapped Hog.
>>389338490
>Strigon squadron cheats like motherfuckers
I find the Strigon fight quite fun. You can just rek them with allied support if you don't want to deal with them yourself.
>>389338609
>>389338627
I still don't understand the system with your allies so well. I noticed a meter that seems to fill up over the course of the different fights down by the radar, when that fills is that how you're able to select allied assist and allied attack? I can only ever select regular Support/Cover/Assist or whatever or regular Attack and not the other grayed out options.
>>389338701
Try to hold up and down.
Magic will happen.
>>389338701
The more shit you destroy, the more the allied support bar fills up and the more you can call them in. Hold up on the Dpad to have them attack targets infront of you. Hold down on the Dpad to have them attack targets behind you.
>>389338772
Am I retarded anon? Be honest with me.
>>389338454
his style was very unique. I loved the ridge racer tracks he did.
>>389338806
Nah, it was never really explained in the game as far as I remember.
>>389338845
It should be one of the tutorials that pops up after completing one of the first few missions.
They WILL actually use Coffin as part of the plot again this time right?
Remember that Coffin was the answer against Drones
I hope for a lot of nice looking aircraft porn.
Electrosphere stole everything when it comes to cool shit.
>>389339025
I haven't played AC3 yet, how does COFFIN help against drones?
>>389339025
Did you not the the sphere machine in the plane from that cutscene? (1:20) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgyqYq80PW0
Do you not remember General Resource Limited had a hand in Ace Combat 6?
Do you not realize that in the timeline AC7 happens one year BEFORE ACX?
>>389339134
>plane is directly connected to your brain
>perfect accuracy
>no risk of hacking
>no lag
Of course that would help
Problem is that you can't eject now.
I also doubt it's gonna be in AC7 at all, because Japan.
>>389339134
The pilot is neurally linked to the plane for minimum response time
Also I assume remaining stationary allows for better G-force cushioning and the ability to push the plane to its limit
Basically means a human pilot can match an AI in piloting ability
I'm really liking 6 guys. It's so great to have ground missions that aren't boring shit with flak that actually seems somewhat dangerous.
>>389339829
>tfw want to play 6 but don't want to spend $200 just to play it
How come we managed to emulate the PS3's cell processing before 360 emulation got anywhere
>>389339829
>>389339634
>tfw will never play 6 ever
Dammit.
What did my boys GR do in 6?
>>389332605
You just suck, is all
>>389332605
Anyone here play Infinity? Is it worth investing time into?
>have only the beginner plane
>fly alongside squad members with much better planes
>still become MVP
>mfw
>>389340189
It's still alive? It's been a while since I last played it
The game itself is pretty fun, especially the special raid missions, but you're going to have to get used to being massively underequipped compared to everyone else as well as the absolutely monstrous grindfest the aircraft tree is
>>389339990
360 is 60 bucks now.
Also its a 360 exclusivity
>>389340189
I hope you finished the campaign. The last song on that mission is the BEST.
>>389340398
>360 is 60 bucks now
That depends entirely on where in the world you are.
>>389340460
Did they actually finish making the campaign? Last I knew it ended on a cliffhanger in Tokyo I think?
>>389340557
They did finish it I think. The last mission isBunker Shot
>>389340557
3 missions have been added since then
It still kinda ends on another cliffhanger with no chance of continuation though, and I wouldn't spend the $20 on it myself
>>389332605
The F-14 is MADE to fight Aigaion. You can slag all of the refuelling aircraft on the way into the AO with it's longrange AIM-54 Phoenix's - and its a fast and tough enough bitch to blaze through Aigaion's deck and immelmann turn to sit behind her whilst Strigori team launches and you put them down one-by-one.
Fucking loved that mission, with the seamlessness between the ocean and the sky, duelling with the ace team and their three sky fortresses.
>>389340189
Is Infinity still PS3 Only? Because fuck I want to play it but I got a 360 instead back in the day and can't afford buying a PS3. I've got a PS4 though at least.
Is Osea the bad guy in 7?
>>389340992
Yes.In Zero too
>>389340624
>>389340654
Shit I might have to dust off the PS3 again. Played through ACX for the first time a week ago, was pleasantly surprised by it.
>>389339025
Hello there fellow pilot.
>>389332605
>tfw got stuck on the fortress mission in ace combat 5 for over a year
>>389341192
How? It's all air to ground and then you run away from the 8492.
So we can all agree that this guy right here is Yellow 13 right?
>>389341192
>>389341335
answer him anon. I too want to know how you got stuck there.
>>389341676
Two questions. Where'd you get this, and what makes you say that?
>>389341829
It's from the first trailer.
>>389342060
It is? How the fuck did I miss that? Guess I just have shit memory.
>>389332605
That thing is stupidly big and unrealistic. How much fuel would that use up? How would you even land it? Pathetic.
Star Fox 64 > Ace Combat series
>>389342231
>m-MUH REALISM
>>389342321
>furry shit
>>389342231
If they can build some like that they probably either have enough resources they don't need to care about fuel, or probably have some form of on-board reactor.
As for landing, it might land in water like a flyable aircraft carrier, alternatively a really fucking big runway.
Thirdly, who needs functionality when you intimidate anything that gets near it, along with laser defense systems and probably about 3 squadrons protecting it?
>>389341819
The convoy kept getting blown up before I could even start taking down the towers shooting at it. One time I tried it and it magically survived despite not playing the mission any differently. Felt like a fucking dice roll every time I tried it a few times a month for a fucking year then it suddenly worked.
What's the princess thinking of?
>>389342459
it's about defending the convoy of the immediate threats. That means that if you're at the very start of the mission, you kill the pillboxes first and everything else second.
>>389342617
I know that anon I'm just shit at ace combat
>>389342498
Obviously the purging of the filthy Oseans and their space hellevator from the face of Strangereal
>>389342321
>nintendo games
>>389342498
the princess looks sketchy from that scene
>>389342931
>When no one loves the best portable only because of the name.
>>389343421
Quality game, wish it was on Vita though. Even with the N3DS release it was limited by the platform.
The trick to dealing with the Agaion is to spam attack orders. If you can get all of Strigon in front of you you can call in an allied attack and wipe them out, same for pretty much every AA, engine, missile on the big planes. Target the planes that start off with their engines exposed at the start to get the order meter fully charged quickly.
>>389342498
How to get KNOTTED
>>389332605
I think I just took an a10 on this with the biggest bombs I can and just came down from the skybox right onto the airships did that till I was out of ammo and then hugged the floor to the base to reload
>>389342498
I want mobius 1 to ride me
>>389343325
I think she looks more sad. I'm guessing that she's being forced into playing her role so she's brooding over her fake happiness and warmongering.
>>389344242
I'll shoot myself if it's another "Illuminati" Grey Men bullshit. Don't get me wrong, it worked exceptionally well for 5 but come on.
>>389336479
>playing as erusia

>suddenly arsenal bird 1 splits in half by high velocity projectile
><<Stonehenge online>>
>mission update

>>389341676
Oh boy, this meme again... Yellow 13 is dead, if anything this guy might be Cipher or Mobius if you wanna write your fanfic.
Belka and Erusea restored to greatness when?
More on Yuktobonia and the Verusa continent in general too.
>>389341165
So what's the deal with this? Is the older guy using this to help him for better? Or is the SU-27 controlled by the AI?
>>389341676
>implying that's not Pixy
The final mission in 6 is what fucks my shit, never had trouble with the Agaion.
Also what do you fags think of non-AC arcade plane combat games? Just started playing this since i binged through 2-0 over the past week, it's pretty good so far, hits some of the same beats as AC and every mission so far has had a named ace with dialogue and a unique portrait to shoot down.
>>389345642
I like pic related, it never gets talked, but its pretty good
>>389345197
>implying Cipher and Mobius aren't the same person
>>389345642
I really liked this one.
Good missions, secret / super weapons and a variety of useable prototypes.
The graphics are okayish but the presentation is great, if you keep shooting your guns the screen darkens out because your pilot "concentrate" on the target, and there's a photo-like aspect to the game, it's a rather pleasant and well done game, even if it's nothing to call home about.
>>389337614
>>389345642
I still need to play this.
>twinbee and vic viper
I need this.
>>389347525
Loved this game. Too bad it doesn't run on newer systems on the pc without using computer magic.
I want to get into series. But i only have pc. Last time i tried(around 4 years ago) AC4 i got shitton of graphical errors like black ground and missing particles.
Is pcsx2 any better not at emulating AC series?
Also can anyone post guide what games is a must have to play and what should i skip and in what order?
Is this series plot heavy? Does plot starts to get good in ps2 games or i need to play 3 on ps1 too?
Are all games connected via plot or they separate self contained ?
>>389345192
i also wanted a stonehenge fire support. it would be fun
>>389350671
4,5, 0 are best
then X, 6, and 3
>>389350671
They're connected by world, each game is self contained storywise.
>>389350671
0 and 5 are flawless on PCSX2 now, 4 is still awful.
Grab a Typhoon and load it up with rocket pods. You can destroy each of the Aigaion's support ships in a single strafing run. If your fast enough, you can blow the shit out of Strigon team as they are launching on the runway.
With the Typhoon, this mission can be done in less than 5 minutes.
>>389347525
I loved that giant submarine mission.
>>389332605
This is probably the best mission in the series.
It kills me that there were DLC missions that had similar giant aircraft and are now gone from the marketplace.
>>389339829
6 has the best mixed air/ground missions in the franchise, Bar fucking none. It's actually heavier on ground targets than air most of the time.
>>389339829
The beach landing and night defense missions were my favorites.
>>389350671
Also
>i only have pc
Here's what I think is the order you'll want
>5 and 0 on PCSX2 (look up guides on youtube for the perfect settings)
>X and X2 on PSP emulator (works well on Vita if you have one, but no dual stick trick there)
>Electrosphere on PCSX-R or Mednafen (do NOT play the official USA version! Use the recently released fan-translation of the game instead!)
After that you can play 2 if you're curious, or try to emulate the 3DS games but good luck with that.
AC4 is honestly not a super great game and an absolute BITCH to make it work ok on PCSX2.
Don't bother with Assault Horizon on PC (the 3DS version is better)
>>389343542
Lol the vita has no good flight games. 3DS has Ace-combat, Starfox and Kid Icarus. Even PSP had 2 AC games.
>Home, it seems so far away now
He's Belkan.
>>389345382
Seems like the scientist guy is using the older pilot as a template for the AI to learn how to fly.
>>389350671
Stop being a poorfag and buy a console.
>>389352637
I have a ps2 and psp but they both are broken. I'm not buying them second time just for 3-4 games.
>>389353010
Anyone here know if Namco/project aces need to ask the aircraft making companies for a license to use their plane's name/concept in their games?
>>389342664
I got stuck there for maybe half a dozen attempts. Take something with 4AGMs. Use them to quickly take out the vehicle groups that pop out while flying circles taking out pillboxes with regular missiles
>>389354204
I assume so, considering the companies are always listed in the credits and copyright information
Except for the Russian planes, but that's because they don't give a fuck
Thanks for the tips fellas. I finally beat Aigaion. The allied attacks were the best way to do it. Great mission.
>>389342931
The all range mode sections are pretty fun, coming from an AC fan.
> Dat independence day level
>>389352152
>>X and X2 on PSP emulator (works well on Vita if you have one, but no dual stick trick there)
How to into dual sticks in emulator?
I mapped the inputs but they don't do anything
>>389354204
They do for american/european companies.
I really hope there are chinese jets added though. Just for variety. I also liked that in Assault Horizon, Russian jets had the system alerts in Russian but I don't know if you could carry that into a strangereal game.
>>389356914
>I don't know if you could carry that into a strangereal game
Why not? All of Belka's shit is already in German
>>389356914
That brings up a good question, who actually designs all these planes in the Strangereal universe?
Every country seems to have access to all planes, and aside from the fictional ones it's never said who designed them.
Go dance with the angels, Mister.
