That image is just mainline games, if you include backports/spinoffs you've also gotta include THPS2X and the DS port of AW (American Sk8land) which is actually a very good game that plays more like a kind of THPS4+.

Why hasn't there been a skate 4? There's obviously a market for a new skateboarding game, and with pro skater 5 being hot garbage, anything skate 4 does will put it miles ahead of it. Is EA retarded?
