They already are? Why are you concerned about this now? Why do you think games have been trending towards cinematic experiences and walking sims for the past 15 years? Why do you think games that actually challenge the player are so rare now? Reviewers suck at video games, but they are the ones who devide if a game is successful or not, so developers have to make games that pander to them. Journalists enjoy easy games laden with cutscenes or waypoint walking because they can't handle actual gameplay; they therefore give these games high grades. Why do you think shit like Uncharted has been so well-received?

This is why I disregard the opinions that come from GiantBomb. I watch their quick looks, and they're almost always terrible at whatever game they're playing.
