My curiosity has gotten the best of me. You guys know how if you go past the borders of Skyrim, you see the White Gold Tower and Red Mountain?
What happens if you keep going? What happens if you continue into the void at ludicrous speeds? I'm going to find out, tonight. I'm going to keep running at insanely amped running speeds until something significant happens or I get a crash.
The purpose of this thread is both to see what happens in this Skyrim attempt (and post screenshots of what happens), and compare it to my previous run in Oblivion. If anyone was there for those runs, you'll remember that floating point errors tore apart my character model as I ran, mostly due to the lazy way Bethesda made the game. It's time to see if Skyrim is really all that different from it's predecessor.
Wish me luck, /v/.
stream it with good music
could be comfy
Oh haha

I learned a while ago to leave music like thread themes to whoever wants to suggest some.
Pic related is the border cutoff from useless terrain in where Cyrodiil should be turns into the endless void ocean.

Why don't you play a good TES game like Morrowind
>>389301381
I remember an old Nickies thread that got derailed into posting songs about running.
Since you're trying to get to the end of the worldspace I'll post a song about borders.

I do, I've played all 5, and I know Morrowind > Skyrim. This is more about testing the engine.
>>389301938
They're all good though.

No.

Yes.

Maybe
It begins.

He's changing...
I'm steadily increasing my speed. Interestingly the camera seems to be affected by the floating point errors a bit more than in Oblivion.

Distortion is still happening but it seems like it's happening differently than in Oblivion
Update on fists...
>>389304710
How much faster are you going than in Oblivion? I feel like it took you much longer for the game to freak its shit like this.
>>389304917
I can't remember how fast I went in Oblivion, honestly. I should be going slower in Skyrim as far as I can tell since the speedmult console command is a percent and not a value in relation to 1.
My trusty blades aren't making me look too good either.
>>389304710
He went full retard
>>389305076
What's happening exactly to make the model deformed like this?
>>389305416
I believe it's called "floating point errors" but beyond that I'm not sure.
By the way, it's definitely different in Skyrim. My character reset after a while, and is now distorting... differently, I guess? My head went all the way into my torso, then popped back out, and is now meshing into it as I continue on. Pic related.
OP, why not stream this?
>>389306137
So we are going full creepy pasta this early I see...
MANGLE HIM UP MORE
>>389306567
I was once banned for promoting a stream.
I'll try to stream it if I can get a good setup working by tomorrow afternoon, but then I have to save it till then.

There's an infinite number of real numbers. A computer can't account for every possible one, so we approximate by storing it as a number times ten to another number. When values get really large, that approximation begins to break down (because the first number isn't large enough, eg 4.1234 times 10^6 gives 4123400 when you really want 4123456) and you get increasingly large error.
>>389306815
I wouldn't bother waiting to do it, if you're already in the mood to do so. I was just wondering, and yeah you run the risk of getting banned for whatever reason.
NPC Test
By the way, I seem to be stuck moving only along certain axes for some reason, like invisible walls are crisscrossing this whole thing.
>>389307175
Is there any indication of the distance between horizontal movement, like you can move left and right, then you run approximately 1 mile and you can move left and right again?
>>389300485
Your Oblivion threads were great, anon.
Keep these coming
>>389308195
I think that's happening but it's heard to get a bearing because how I can move doesn't exactly line up with the compass. If it's any help my movement is 100% free if I slow down to normal speed.
>>389308871
Hard*
>>389308985
Okay, so movement could just be limited by the extreme speed, unrelated to distance out.
Is this CHIM?
I'm wrapping up for the night, I'll stream the rest of the trip tomorrow.
What happened at the end of Oblivion? And can someone provide an in world setting lore explanation of it?
You've done this thread before.

Interesting.
