Lootboxes are the future. Just accept them as they help keep developers working on one project to make the games the best that they can
be.
No one wants to make a video game that sells once and then they have to keep shelling out new ones every year.

I wouldn't mind what you were inferring but in reality these developers don't use that money to actually improve the game. They rather spend it on new content to make even more money and invest in PR to (you guessed it) make even more money.
And all of these indie hype games do it, really. Ark, PUBG, DBD and whazever they're called. If developers would work on optimisation amd ensuring the player has the best possible gameplay experience I would gladly buy skins, lootcrates or whatever they're called.
