I don't get this "game".
Why do I insist on having kids if I can barely afford to live by myself?

When I was a kid and I wanted expensive things my parents just explained why I didn't need it. Occasionally I got some nice expensive things, but it wasn't all the time and it was only things I truly loved and would keep forever.

Instead of just buying me shit to help me fit in and "not feel poor" I was taught the value of a dollar and the value of not just spending money blindly on every flashy thing I see. There were also some times where my parents would say something like, "Okay, we can buy this [expensive fad item], but then we won't be able to buy a new video game" or some shit like that, so when I just left the fad item by the wayside eventually I realized I could have had something better. It gradually taught me to weigh the value of things I spend money on rather than just teaching me that mommy and daddy will just buy me anything I want regardless of how much it hurts them.

There could even be jobs available there, my point is that it assumes that jobs are only in the cities and there will be apartments readily available out in the country, it's such a general subject and it's using a fuck huge brush to paint the subject of location with. I live in a medium suburban town that's rapidly expanding into becoming a small metropolis with dirt cheap houses and apartments for rent surrounded by readily available jobs at all times because of all the new shit being built here especially houses, retail, restaurants etc. Location can mean everything in a situation like this and it often does, so I'm a bit peeved when you're supposed to work and live around 3 jobs that are all in the same place, like there is no other job anywhere else in a 50 mile fucking radius.

Yeah, we don't have any sort of established railway system here. The entire country has been built with the assumption that you have a car to drive around it on. If you don't have access to a car and you live outside of a major metropolitan area you're basically shit out of luck because public transportation doesn't exist.
