The mechanics are actually good. Shooting and moving feels great, building a character is really good. I keep coming back to it because it feels like there's a good game buried in there beneath the horrible writing but I just can't power through it. The dialogue is extremely cringy, and I missed played a military character. Everyone is so casual it drives me crazy, no one takes anything seriously. Vetra is the only good character.

I think that is the sum of my feelings.

One of the worst games I've ever played. The combat feels weaker, the story is non-existant and the lore rape is horrendous.

How so ? You use the same 3 skill from start to finish. The only way to play with more skill is to mod a no CD on profil swap, otherwise the fight are over so quickly you don't have the time to load another profil.

Combat and powers are the best they've ever been in an ME game, as are the environments.

Multiplayer is a bit weaker than ME3's but still fun in small doses.

The narrative is different to the original trilogy and is mostly based on exploring rather than defeating an ancient evil.

Some characters are shit e.g. Liam and Cora

Some are good e.g Drack, Vetra and Jaal

Ryder is vanilla as hell but you can choose to be lawful good, lawful evil etc which is ok, but it usually always ends up in the same result.

Music is non-existent which is a wrong idea. ME1 nailed the music and ambience perfectly and ME:A should have tried to replicate this.

It's a 7.5/10 after all the patches. Some story elements are missing due to the fact it was planned as DLC, but now all DLC has been cancelled.

I was able to fuck Jack easily, but now I'm trying to fuck Miranda and Tali, but Tali said she wants exclusivity. Can I get Miranda first and after banging dump her for Tali? Or she also wants to be exclusive?

Honestly as crappy as the game is, the Turian Agent was extremely fun to play in MP. Built him as a cloaking flamethrower spammer and it was great.

Yeah, the entire loot system they implemented is fucking broken. ALL guns are weak, and the only viable ones are either rare or ultra-rare, but they don't become viable until level 10, which takes weeks of playing to unlock. Same goes for the characters. Stupid shitty bioware god damn fucking shit canadians fuck

There are some things from ME1 they built upon, like planet exploration, the inventory system, etc. and were able to improve it. However they fucked up the most important parts, when it comes to any ME game: setting, story and characters. The whole idea of going to Andromeda is a patchwork idea with lots of plotholes and the whole story is rather generic and at many points outright stupid. The important part, why your MC matters to the story is basically: He has an AI in his/her brain and apparently the only damn scanner they brought back from the Milky Way. Characters like Drack and Vetra are a bit more fleshed out, but the rest (and especially Ryder) are annoying and would rather fit into a sitcom. Overall the story often only lacks the laugh track in the background.
Combat is faster, but they somehow managed to make the cover system worse. The AI is beyond retarded, so to get some kind of challenge, you either have to get a mod or limit yourself somehow.
But the worst part are the glitches. The game is still a mess and the last SP patch came out in July, so everything not fixed will stay that way. Pic very related.

As someone who finished it, no. Combat does feels faster, but removing your control over your teammate powers is really stupid. Mission structure is really boring. Including the main story one. Go to each planet, find the weather control alien device/structure, build settlements, rinse and repeat. The only planet that I really liked playing around is on a planet/moon that got blown up, and you're driving the buggy around in zero g and not to mention the atmosphere-less sky looks really cool. I'm not sure if they've patched it, but the crafting is really frustrating and just craft the strongest weapon, any other weapon is just useless. The only ok characters are Vetra, Drak, and Jaal.

Yes, especially since they can't use them for shit. Cora charges repeatedly enemies that will kill you if you stay in melee range for a few seconds. Same with Liam and Jaal, even though Liam is an even bigger retard with his grenads. Only 1 in 5 times does he actually manage to throw it at enemies. The others blow up in his face because he threw them against his own cover or something else he is standing behind.
