Is the first game good? Still haven't gotten around to any of the new wave of crpgs of the last few years.

I ended up dropping it halfway, but it's good, been meaning to give it another shot. I'm not a big fan of the art style and setting, and the dialog was a little excessive at times. It's still a lot of fun though, and there's a lot of fun strategic elements to combat you can use.

I personally liked Wasteland 2 more, but I think if we're comparing RPGs, DivOS is technically superior.

It drops the ball towards the end, where encounters feature immune mobs that are just a drag to fight.

Still, I tried a lot of CRPGs lately and just none of them really stuck because a lot of them felt like trying to parrot ye olde CRPG without taking the context of modern development standards into account, but DOS actually feels like it takes advantage of today's tech. If you can, try to convince a friend to play the first game with you, it honestly shines in co-op.

I get how the humour/setting would be too much for some, but I think I might just be worn down by all the hyperrealistic, super gritty RPGs that are being churned out lately.
