If you can afford the 1060, there's no reason to get the 1050ti.

I guess it depends on whether or not the rest of your system would be bottlennecking the 1060, but it offers better performance and more importantly, is a bit more future proof.

I have a 1050ti + i3 6100 and can play literally every game maxed out at 60 fps 768p.
Even a heavily modded gta 5 with iceEnhancer and all those types of graphics mods ran at 50-60 fps.

1050ti is a great budget card. If all you want is 60 fps 1080p, then it will do the job. 1060/70/80 are overkill unless you're going for higher res/refresh/VR.

How is this hard? The X is the GPUs generation, 10 is the latest right now. YY is for how powerfull and pricey it is. 1080ti is the most expensive and powerful right now, ti is added because it's basically a revision of the 1080. Dropping down to 1070, 1060, 1050, etc the GPUs get less expensive and powerful. AMD has their own naming system that comes down to the same thing.
