That score would be almost perfect for the game if it wasn't because vidya scoring is completly fucked up and anything below an 8 is trash.

Game wasn't exclusive or hyped very much, probably didn't have much in the way of marketing either. Not that it deserves a higher score.

When those conditions are met, Games journalists just slap a 9/10 on a game like Uncharted or BotW and call it a day, despite the multitude of flaws or unoriginal, boring game design that comes with them.

For what purpose?

The story was ok, and the exploration was good.

Everything else about it was awful.

Anything higher than a 7 is suspicious honestly.
