I helped them gear up the replacement tank and they were fine with me not coming on every raid day even though that was a requirement since i was with them from the start and did a lot of the planning and stuff. So i stuck around for a while but once I knew the new tank was doing my job well the lack of pressure to play made me drop the game pretty fast.

I was having fun on some cheap kmmo a few years ago, but it was one of those MMOs where a guild was literally required to progress past a certain point. My friend found one finally, and we had to log into some awful subchannel where we were told we were recruits, had to log on regularly, had to contribute to the guild frequently to even be considered being part of the "real" guild. I peaced out and uninstalled that same day.

Youre so funny. I remember when I was going to uni. No friends, no interpersonal skills, just vidya and depression. But uni would be different.
After trying hard for 2 months I managed to slip through all friend groups and ended up in despression, barely passing classes and playing vidya.
Not feeling like youre missing out is probably the best thing youll embrace.

Does anyone else miss the day where when the wow servers went down for maintenance they'd leave a couple up so that everyone could jump on them? I just have a lot of fond memories of making a new level 1 on these servers and the psuedo raid fight that would happen when a max level character from the other faction would appear and just decimate everything.

I guess to answer your question it's because people get invested in these things. So there's a bigger reaction when someone messes with people, and it's in a safer environment than real life. A lot of people like this are really young too.
