I guarantee you'll change your tune when ES VI is announced. The open world/easy modding of previous games, but with a story that is actually interesting and engaging. Wont be out for at least a couple years, but the main story arc and setting are well developed and trust me it's going to out do Skyrim in every respect. That said, expect Todd to exaggerate the truth a bit.

If you liked the sort of direction Obsidian took with NV then I genuinely think the setting and story of ES VI will appeal to you, at least more so than previous titles. While it's still got the same basic setting, it focuses on an aspect of one culture in particular that in many ways has a more darker and NV feel to it. Also from a lore perspective it's really fucking fascinating and ties up a long held mystery of the franchise. All I'm saying is give it a chance. Unfortunately Bethesda is shoe horning a bunch of crap into it tech/monetization wise that mean it will a year or two before serious development begins.

It's difficult for me to give details because anyone who is into the franchise will be able to deduce where and when the game is set if I'm not careful. Being able to work on the franchise is like a dream come true for me, so I don't want to leak anything about the story (even if it's anonymous and no one will believe it anyway). Plus there's a big chance the story will change substantially between now and when serious development begins.

I will happily "leak" what I dislike though. Microtransactions will be a thing, and the reason game development is being pushed back so much is because a multiplayer mode is being developed. When I say developed, I mean concept wise. They don't want to compete with ESO, but at the same time a semi-popular multiplayer mode provides a reason for micro-transactions to be purchased by players. So at the moment Bethesda is toying with a few different concepts for Elder Scrolls multiplayer that is not just an MMO like ESO. When one of the concepts is chosen more serious development will begin. Bethesda looks at the success of Skyrim and imagines how much money they could have made if it had an in game store, which fucking sucks and is the one thing I hate about the people forcing it.
