One big negative is that it takes a lot of grinding just to unlock the additional courses after the first one. The classic golf courses are also locked behind dlc but you get 5 with the game itself.

If you are a veteran of this series, I have had no problem unlocking shit. I got the third course unlocked in about 5 hours of play time.
I've found it really fun.

as far as i can tell, not really. 3 rods: lvl 1, 10, and 20. 3 kinds of bait, 68 types to find. fresh and salt water types. either at home base or online courses. basically it's just a tap X minigame with a minor tension gauge
