We've reached the point now where they could set it in the Napoleonic Wars and they'd still find an excuse to give soldiers fully automatic weapons and have black & female soldiers.

What setting would have the best atmosphere? I Love see'ing smoke/explosions/shit flying around everywhere. I loved those maps where a giant storm would arrive, it'd start pouring/waves would go wild. Its the main reason why I buy these games, they do graphics really good.

It's gonna be 1944, you'll see. BC3, Vietnam and 2143 would be too niche compared to the bux 1944 would bring and EA knows this, not to mention the backlash 2143 would be brought by normies who are tired of sci fi shit by now.

I would enjoy a Napoleonic War battlefield game. Mostly to laugh at how many loops the developers would jump through to feasibly allow for automatic or semi-automatic guns, but also because it would look pretty damn beautiful with sick uniforms which is something M&B can't capture

Near future is played out and I doubt they would want to do more future stuff after coming off of Battlefront 2. CoD made big news by going back to WW2, so DICE also going back to that setting would make them look unoriginal.

Some type of 80s setting is the most obvious choice. Tons of iconic weaponry and vehicles and no other active multiplayer shooters use the setting.

While I agree that Korea is criminally under represented, it's really not that appealing of a setting for a series like BF. There's one small theater of war gives little variety in maps and huge tech overlap with WW2 make it hard to justify not just using the shitloads of potential content you can draw from with a WW2 setting.

I agree. The story mode was actually fun as fuck for me, and the the big maps on multiplayer were Mad Max tier when full.
