The news about half-life 3/episode 3 not happening came out around the same time we learned about artifact. Now that we know there's never going to be a new half-life, that makes this new cashgrab game seem even worse. I'm sure that if these events happened far apart from each other there would have been backlash for both, but because they are happening around the same time, the backlash is amplified. Personally I wasn't even looking for another half-life game, but I still hate artifact. It's greedy and uninspired.
