buy headphones, they will give you better sound quality than some hypershit cloud headset for half the price. then stick a modmic or zalman on it. gaming headsets are truly one of the biggest scams in gaming.

This is also semi-viable. They overcharge for the mic only and it's still clear enough for gabbing. Headphones are good enough for Youtube quality audio, but staunchly V-shaped for NIGGERbass and and electronica.

from personal experience.. headsets/headphones break a shitton.
i ended up going with a good desktop mic (60€) and 20 € headphones.
thus if my headphones break they will be cheap to replace.

I'm also looking for a new headset. Got a pair of Astro A50s about 4 years ago, and they're slowly going to shit.
Thing is, the optical audio quality from my Xbox One is extremely good, so I was hoping some others around here could point me in a direction for a new optical headset for my Xboner that had similar or greater optical sound quality.
