I always thought that was a strange design choice. One would think that the easier difficulty would give you more time to grind or farm for loot and XP, but it's the opposite. The harder the game is the more dungeons you get access too and the better your rewards are overall. In addition to the true ending and extra characters.

Anyone who plays on easy or normal is cheating themselves out of the actual video game. Content is missing unless you're on hard.

Lenneth was my first vidya crush. Loved every tri-Ace game up to Radiata Stories and Valkyrie Profile 2. Shame that there's literally nothing quite like it nowadays and tri-Ace is dead.
Radiata Stories satisfied my NPC autism to a degree that not even the Trails games could, cause even though they have a ton of text written for then nothing could surpass all those recruitable NPCs doing their daily routine and having unique quests to recruit them.
Radiata is still the standard to which I compare other rpg hubs to.

I always seem to end up with Shiho and Suo in my party. I loved the idea of a blind songstress even though her story wasn't nearly as fleshed out as others but Suo's more than made up for it piggybacking off of hers. The other slot is almost always Grey or Lawfer as I found that whole group of people (Arngrim, Celia, Aelia, the whole band of people) were the easiest Einherjar to feel bad for but they were my top people.

When I was younger I actually wrote a fanfic of Celia becoming an Einherjar but it was the most cringy, done to death bullshit of a story but I just felt bad that literally all of her friends fucked off to Valhalla.

Fucking loved VP1 when I had it on PS1. Loved it more on PSP Lenneth. Just started VP2 on my cousin's PS2 he gave to me.

No idea what to expect overall. It was just one of those games that existed and I missed. I've gotten to chapter 3. As I understand it, there's 6 chapters. Is the meat of the game in 3-6? I've just gotten to the forest and keep getting poisoned by the ogres. What the fuck am I doing wrong?

I thought VP1 was a very interesting game, the battle system, dungeon segments, and narrative were all quite unique. I'd definitely recommend any JRPG fan to give it a try. However I don't plan to play VP2; from what I hear it's more of the same, once the novelty wears off, you're stuck with a broken battle system.
