Yeah that was what made me stop playing before I even hit 10 years old, many years later got around to beating it on the DSiware version of the game but it was a huge chore

being unable to go back to earlier levels and farm lives or continues was really lame. you can make a save practically unplayable by saving when you're down to a life or 2 with no continues left.

Because games were games, and a little trial-and-error scares today's audiences. I beat it 100% when I was eleven.

I've played the pc and ps1 version and they where equall from what I could tell. I've heard Saturn version was the best but any version should be fine
