>Massively convoluted maze levels later with very little in the way of differentiation
>Constantly putting enemies in ambushes where even if you take them out efficiently you have to take damage because they aggro so fast and have hitscan weapons
>Flat shaded, constant height hallways get fucking nauseating after awhile

>Far more complex and interesting levels with better secrets, but also easier to get around navigate thanks more varied visuals.
>More enemy types with different attack styles
>8 weapons each with different roles, pretty much all of them have their uses.
>Less hitscan enemies and wider arenas make for fun strafe and shoot fights
>Actual lighting for atmosphere
>Monster closets can get tiring but at least you can react to them.
