Smackdown vs raw, 2006 and 2007 were the golden ones.

Previous ones had the shitty stock music style soundtrack and way overexaggerated animations which made it feel like an arcade brawler, everything after that had they started with the weirdly convoluted and slow grappling systems and generally everything got less exciting as they tried to make it too realistic, with the forced "sell" animations, fight getting slower as players get beat up, makes it feel like a simulation rather than a game. These three titles really were the magic ones.
