Why buy a switch when the next MonHun won't even be on it?

I'm not buying a Switch now because there aren't any games that are worth $300, anon. I have generic AAA open world games on my PC and PS4 already, i don't need more.

i wait for five games I absolutely need to play before a cobsole, the only exemption is if the console has monster hunter.

The Switch is the first console since the original Wii that I find somewhat interesting, but I don't even know why. I guess I just like the looks and the concept of it, as well as the potential for hacking and using it as some sort of emulator-handheld for when I'm out.
The last time I've actively played console-games was maybe in 2004, nowadays I'm mostly just replaying my favorite games from NES to GC via emulator every once in a while. As a poorfag I also have very little money to spend in general, so buying a new console really would be a big deal for me and I don't know if the Switch is really worth it.

I'm suffering from this type of thinking since the last decade now, which is why I haven't really played anything new since then. Even for PC I've played like 4 titles in the last 10 years. Maybe I'd feel better if I actually do get Switch, just for the feeling of trying something new and to gift something to myself after such a long time. I'm not really sure.
