Why some people prefer original DS2 over SotFS?

Original DkS2 is mostly used for speedrunning purposes, because you have all the dlc keys on your inventory already, so you don't have to find them in-game.

Original DaS2, despite its issues, seems like a game with a much clearer vision of what they wanted to accomplish.
For instance, having the ways to both Dragonrider and Old Dragonslayer clearly accessible, as opposed to Scholar's blockade with a dragon.

But there's no way to avoid the Dragon's fire. You can only cheese it by using arrows to draw it out. That's stupid.

I always kill it melee because it's faster.
