I have a love hate relationship with Paladins, you're either given the worst team or the best team, there's never really that "holy shit anyone could win" moment.

also I like Inara but can't play her much because she deals nearly no damage and is only good for sitting on the points/defending everything, but that doesn't matter much when your support is playing DPS and your sniper, drogoz and whatever the hell you have as your third are always dead to that one bouncy Maeve who you can solo kill with rocks.

Skye was shit before her ult nerf and was still shit after. She's the ULTRA pubstomper even though her ult was plenty avoidable. Skye is the worst flanker because of how linear she is and her having next to zero survivability. All flankers have tools to help keep them alive and Skye doesn't, that stealth is not enough. Androxus has consistently been the top flanker and his effectiveness is limited purely by your aim and decision making. There is ZERO reason to pick Skye over Androxus, Evie, Buck, Lex, or Zhin. The only flanker even as close to as shitty as Skye is Maeve and that's only due to huge nerfs.

Also yeah they all deal respectable damage, Inara just requires more steady aim than they do for the exact reason you described.

Better map design, and better game speed and pacing. The heroes are also more enjoyable, and a lot of it is probably due to the whole idea of "power budgeting". The ultimates in this game are way less retarded and are generally more utility focused or situational so characters will have bigger kits with more impactful abilities as a result. The game structure I prefer as well, you are committed to whatever character you pick but are given more tools to deal with the enemy as opposed to simply "pick another hero". Also I kind of like the goofy fantasy shit over the cyberpunk stuff personally.

I hate to admit it but I have more fun of a time on paladins than overwatch. Almost every character feels good and has unique abilities. This game is a lot less about teamwork though, partly because of the playerbase and partly because of how heroes are. A support character can out damage an entire team and still be #1 in healing.

Yeah there's kind of a rune system, the base loadouts aren't terrible but there's much more optimal play styles out there. Luckily the game starts you with enough currency to buy at least 2 or 3 "meta" loadouts. It's recommended you find characters you really like and look into popular loadouts before you blow all your starting essence away

aiming is hard. build a loadout with the card that reduces cooldown of reversal when you hit an enemy and the card that reduces cooldown of nether step when you hit an enemy with reversal. the reversal legendary is arguably the best one right now. basically just work on your aim and dont use your nether steps flippantly. you should only be using them to chase a worn down target or to escape. utilize reversal in team fights, you can nuke the team if they focus you. once your team gets a few picks off, head to the enemy point and knock people off horses. flanks have high damage and kill potential but this is where they become credit to team

Get good at aiming and make sure your damage isn't falling off. Damage fall off can be seen with what color the enemy is highlighted as. Be careful with netherstep, it's the perfect ability to get out of a pinch or hunt down a wounded champions. When your flick shots get good enough you can nether step, shoot, nether step, shoot, nether step, shoot in a 1v1, it's incredibly disorientating for your opponent

For the last fucking time, big hitboxes in hero shooters are a GOOD THING

With small hitboxes you end up with shit like hanzo, a hero who can deal insane damage with every arrow, but said damage is really inconsistent because all it takes is someone pressing A or D at the right time or the arrow going between their legs or something for said damage to be completely nullified, so they end up being unviable for competitive play but still extremely annoying to play against

i just started playing with her and it's fun but it's just one skill.
i mean, the slide is good for getting away and the shotgun attack is ok but weak, and her ult and piercing shot are basically the same shit.
most of the time you'll be just using the default attack and nothing else, the ult isn't even a good damage dealer nor do you get many chances to use it against multiple enemies since most of them are spread out.
