After playing through the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, I can now safely say that my memories of how good the original games were was correct. 2 is the best, 3 is just behind it, and 1 is complete shit.

Agreed. 3 went a little too deep into gimmick levels. Shit like bike racing, or shooting the zeppelins/planes was boring stuff you never wanted to repeat. The water levels also made the game become much slower and boring.
