They're incredibly effective at inking turf, but most of the faggots who use them don't use them in the support role that they're intended for. They just hang out in their own spawn and cover blank spots the size of pencil erasers. If you have one on your team who actually avoids enemy engagement but solely covers their ink, they're pretty useful.

I'm decent at the game but every time I begin to see the light of 1600 (not shitting you at all, I haven't passed 1590) I get matched against level 30+ people, and the next highest person on my team will barely break double digits. It just doesn't reward individuals for playing well because it's such a feast or famine scenario. Of course, I don't even know how they would do that, but still. There should be a slight gear exp boost or something if you get more than say 1300 points or if you break like 12 kills.

They drip ink and can slowly cover turf. They're basically giant distractions and sometimes it seems better to just let them bother enemies rather than using them for turfing. It takes a considerable amount of ink to fizzle them and that's a bunch of ink not being used on turf or against your team.
Although if you throw one of your bombs into one, it should pop immediately, and it popping will pop any more bubbles nearby.

honestly most of my battles, I could tell if we were gonna win or lose within the first 45 seconds. Like everybody has the same playstyle: Neutral until you have a disadvantage, then play defensive and count on the late game to comeback. Problem is, playing "defensive" means you get spawn camped so there's never a late game for defensive players. Like once 2 people are dead at once before the countdown clock hit 2 minutes, that typically decided the game.
