Explore every nook and cranny of the mall to find the hidden weapons.
There's a shotgun at the beginning of the game.
Use guns against gun bosses.
Mini-Chainsaws + 3 book combo.

Don't be a bitch and get hung up on the time limit. Don't be afraid to fail a few missions or even the plot.

The best way to get PP is to rescue survivors
always use waypoints for survivors when you can so you can move around freely to protect them as they're moving or run ahead to clear a path

When Otis calls you about the roller coaster, you're gonna want to do that mission asap
it spawns the best weapon in the game & opens a shortcut

In that little restaurant where you pick up the endless supply of orange juice, jump over the railing to find a katana.

always go for survivors if you can, i haven't played in a long time but i think you get PP just for picking them up
don't stress too much if survivors die on you, you get PP for saving them but you shouldn't spend all your time save scumming trying to save every single person that early on
when the yellow rain coat guys start showing up be careful around them, if they throw dust in your face you'll be knocked out, stripped down to your underwear and all of the items and survivors you had with you will be gone (and you'll have to escape the shed they locked you in with nothing but your bare hands and a stepladder)
