It has really good level design, controls extremely well and the soundtrack is great.

Keys are international, so you can just use a cheap free VPN, switch to brazil and buy your legit key.

Great sonic game.

Drop dashing (press jump while in midair to begin an instant spindash) improves the formula heavily IMO

8 remakes of old stages (Act 1 is similar to original while Act 2 adds at least one new gimmick to the stage that changes it significantly)

13 zones, plenty of replayability, great music, fun game, 9.5/10.

He can just get it on nuuvem, the devs already got paid anyway, and SEGA only sees a fraction of the actual price.
If he's that ardent about that he can just wait until it's cracked.
