I think any reference to 2Dvs3D in metroid is stupid as fuck. The best time in the history of metroid was in the era of MP1 to MP2. We got both of them along with Fusion and Zero Mission. All of them were fucking amazing. 3 was a let down in some regards, but overall was a pretty damn fun game too.

It is ironic that the one truly shit Metroid game was the shitty 2.5D Zero Mission.

I love Super. Prime 1 is pretty cool except for missable scans and that part keeps you backtracking from Pendrana to Chozo and then return to Pendrana again to finally go to Phazon Mines or something like that. Metroid Prime 2 handed backtracking better.
