Any people here who didn't play the original before Kiwami? How jarring was the Majima Everywhere in relation to Majima in the main story to you?

I thought it was really awkward. There's some fucking great side missions because of Majima Everywhere, but I felt like it hurt his character in the main story.

This is also a good thing about retiring Kiryu.

As much as I love the character, as the games progressed and the graphics got better and better, it was always jarring to see realistic characters talking to Kiryu who's proportions are literally straight out of my animes. The guy is basically a combination of rectangles.

Comparing the Yakuza 0 story to Yakuza 1's really shows how far they've come in terms of writing. Kind of feel like Yakuza 1 really lacks some good emotional moments.

Game's great but Majima Everywhere system totally ruins the level scaling, where you'll get like 80% of one EXP point from regular enemies and 50-80 from later Majima fights.

Also anybody got tips for the Weapon based Arena fight? Keep getting matched with this chef who fucks me up hard, and a hammer guy who does way too much damage.

About 3 being ass? Yeah. The writing in 3 was a pretty obvious drop in quality from 1 and 2, and even those had some dumb and silly moments in the main story.

I finished the import on hard, but for this one i just play on easy. Kiwami has horrible balance unless you get some later rush style upgrades, it's more about abusing rush guard break and beast counter heat move on hard

god the bosses in Kiwami are so bad

Currently playing Yakuza 5 because I wanna get it over with before I get on to Yakuza 0.

On Saejima's story right now and the roads just opened up while in that Hunter Town. I get what they were trying to do with it, sort of a nice, calm break from the City stuff but wow they way they implemented it is terrible. It just feels tacked on and it's almost like a budget Yakuza Game. I definitely get a different feeling playing it compared to everything else. I can see why everyone thought 5 was kind of weak.
