i still have mixed feelings about wrong number. the beginning and the middle heavily suffer from a "too many characters" syndrome àla spiderman 3, and the fact that the story isn't told in a chronological order certainly didn't help. the gameplay wasn't certainly any better, with big ass open areas and enemies shooting from across the map, who you couldn't even see
but i liked the ending, i liked how all these storylines eventually are wrapped up togetether... and the music was stilll good... and for every power plant level, there were still some good designed ones...

The fans and Jake could have done with quite a bit less screen time, Manny Pardo could have been more connected to the original plot, the war flashback missions felt like nothing but a way to establish a backstory no one cared about or asked for.
The gameplay itself was still fine but the level design is absolutely terrible and is why I never touched the game after I completed it.
Music was nice and like you said the overarching story was solid, while the ending went down as one of my favorites of all game. Decent game, at worst.

My interpretation is the characters in hotline miami 2 see jacket as death himself, so death chooses to appear as the iconic rooster mask and his role in the history is of the audience, trying to warn the characters of their death and just like the audience he is unable to change the movie (hotline miami 2), thats why we see him in the end in the cinema

Completely disagree. HM2 had way slower melee swing speed, stupidly long executions, and the innate mouse acceleration kills the precise feeling of the original.

Also you probably feel better doing HM2's combos because they're easier, the timing's a lot more lenient.
