Currently learning how to set a character with animations in UE4.

Meanwhile, my mind is set on a particular issue that threatens my entire character design. WEBM related. It's for rotating non-spherical eyes while keeping its deformation.

Do you need to actually rotate the eyes? If you are talking about moving the iris and pupil around then you could just shift the eye UVs around and not worry about moving the actual eye sphere. Probably a lot easier.

Could this work with aim constraints for the eyes later down the line? Also, for this to work, I think I would need to bake entire rotation animations and blend between them, because I suspect just having 8 different angles (I think that's what you mean for blend spaces) will make the eye lose volume and clip through the eyelids.

for some reason my idle swim animation gets fucked up. the legs start twitching in unity when the animation plays, but it works just fine in blender. tried importing both .blend and .fbx. it's only the one animation that does it. and yes, i realize how shit the textures are.

Gonna be quite some time. There's zero content it's just mechanics I'm implementing still since it's early early alpha. Also this is just a hobby I do after work so progress is pretty slow.
Maybe after I implement the plant breeding system I'll rig up something just for feedback purposes to make sure I don't make the menus too obtuse I guess.

RNG mixing of:

Plan on having a lot of plant traits only available from seed interbreeding with the goal being wanting to combo plants near each other that complement each other as well as each food type needing player ways of handling. Like a plant that draws small animals to it is planted near one that eats meat. Or a plant that makes cloudy rainy weather with plants that hate the sun.

Gonna be quite awhile before I get that far but will prob try for a demo after that point.
