The people making the new Puzzle Fighter apparently weren't aware that the characters are supposed to look cute like in the pic you posted. The 3D models aren't the worst thing I've ever seen, but their faces definitely miss the cuteness mark. Just at a glance, you can tell this is a Western developed game.
