Kind of, you have to pick male at the start of the game, but later you can turn your character into a girl. You'll still be considered male for marriage purposes (And for some reason your 3D model on the pause screen is still male) but other than that you're basically a female.

they also level up your soil every time you harvest fruit
just keep one or two on one of the squares in the top row of your home field
don't put trees in the seasonal fields, the space is too important for things like crystals and golden crops later on

It stays there forever until you chop it down, they're extremely sturdy and even typhoons don't seem to knock them down. If you're not really into the late game it can be a good idea to put them on your farm as they improve the quality of your soil very quickly. They take a long time to grow into a full tree but after that they produce fruit every day which is amazing for training your cooking.

That's a typhoon, the worst weather in the game that everyone hates. The trees won't be immune to those while it's still growing, but after the typhoon has passed you won't get one for a long time, so you don't need to worry.

Yep, you're right. The item there is the white stone, which if you craft onto an item your kid/spouse is wearing they get a lot stronger. I don't know the exact boost but it definitely gives them a lot of damage reduction.

To be honest monsters are always stronger than townsfolk unless if you grind the shit out of gear making early on. In the late game townsfolk just can't compete, even if you get to the theoretical possibility of getting max stats on everyone.

Yeah it's a bit sad, but monsters just have much better movesets and due to how monster scaling works you can easily get a monster with millions of stats that would take forever for a human to reach. You should take it as a responsibility as a father to make sure your wife and kid aren't a pair of weaklings if that gives you a reason to level and gear them up.

I feel like I'm playing this game wrong but I don't know what to do. I'm like 15 hours in yet still got pretty basic bitch crops never heard of making your own trees can't cook shit can barely make shit. Tree seeds are obtained from some big tree close to the Obsidian Mansion. Just walk around the area for a bit and you'll find it.

Don't worry about it, you don't have any sort of time limit and the game is designed to be played at any pace you want because it's really well designed to be flexible. It's not uncommon for people to have hundreds of hours in the game before beating act 2 but it's possible to beat the main story line in a bit over 2 hours. Take your time and explore and play with things.

Gameplay wise RF4 is much better, pretty much everything is improved. Some people prefer RF3's girls but that's the same thing as preferring a different girl in the same game. Only real issue is RNG events which can get annoying if you're waiting for something specific to happen but thankfully there's a soft reset button to save scum for that if you get really sick of waiting.

The game was really short. The main story is 10-20 hours. Then you have that evil empire attack afterwards haven't played through that entirely but I assume 5 hours.

My biggest grudges with this game. RF3 and even games before it had a cool nip diablo wibe but they just had to fuck with the loot system.

But that's not true. The game has a ton of random drops. Just wandering around in random screens outside of town can spawn chests with random loot, and the post game dungeons have ridiculously random item drops that can potentially give you top level equipment the moment you step inside.
