Kidds won't even pirate something like Cuphead. Adults don't need to act like creepy imbeciles for a fucking twenty of all things.
>>
>>389029417
Nah, its an indie game that revealed in Microsoft E3 years ago. It was bosh rush only game but fags complained they delayed game and mortaged their houses to add platformer levels.

There are more then 30 bosses i think and between bosses 2-3 platformer levels also has local coop
>>
I love GOG because they make it easy to pirate everything. Thanks, slavbros.
>>
>>389029427
I'm not speaking int eh abstract. We're comparing it to Mania, which is a very tightly designed GAME first and foremost.

I actually will buy Cuphead too though. Maybe it's not style over stubstance. Maybe it's an actually good game with good design and not something with level layout designed by an artist.
>>

It's more that the game looks really barebores and the only reason why people care is because they spent too much on the art direction.

if you're going to do that you may as well pirate it and not risk losing your $20 by forgetting.

People who buy games do so because they want to, not because they have to.
Multiplayer shit being one of the only exceptions.
And since Denuvo gets removed from most games, people have started to just wait for those titles to go on sale later anyway.
>>
>>389029686
Yeah

http://www.shacknews.com/article/100480/cuphead-studio-co-founder-we-quit-our-jobs-mortgaged-our-houses-to-grow-team

“The reality is, Cuphead is closer now to the game we always wanted,” Chad told Games Radar. “We aren't throwing levels in to mollify people, we're putting them back in after originally cutting them from our ‘dream scope.’”

My brother and I quit our jobs, remortgaged our houses and began expanding the team,” Moldenhauer said. “This was our chance to actually deliver the game we wanted to make all along, rather than the cut-scope game we originally planned with a three-person team.”
>>
>>389029516

>Implying GOG are that retarded

30 days limit only counts if you don't download it.
And if there is a problem with the game and you want a refund -> Have fun explaining what exactly is wrong because GOG are going to see what issue it is and if it can get fixed.

You might get away with it one time. Do it more often and people start notice your scam.

And why even go for that if you can just pirate?
You can pirate literally everything no matter if DRM-free or not. Sometimes not day 1 but still. 99% of all games are piratable.
>>
>>389029515

Bullshit. The level design in that game is rom-hack tier at times compared to the classic games.

I like GOG, I have 300 steam games but I buy GOG when there's the option.
You can run it without any client and offline but there's an optional client too.
So you might get achievements and stuff but might not on GOG.

If you really like steam there's not a great reason to switch if it isn't cheaper for you, I just like GOG as an option and it was cheaper so I went for it.

Have YOU played Gunstar Heroes? Then you gotta see why, as a run'n'gun, Cuphead looks pretty forgettable. But it's just videos. It could play better than it looks, or they could be trying to not reveal all the interesting design elements in trailers so that we could discover them ourselves. We'll buy the game, play it and see. Deciding it's shit without playing would have been just as stupid for me as deciding it's amazing simply because the animations, like you're hopefully not doing now.
>>
>>389031107

Game reviewers "play" games in a very weird marathoning manner that's akin to watching movies on fast-forward. Their opinions are completely off because of that and also ad revenues and editorial policies. Have you considered that?

Yeah, that tryst with Microsoft cost them dearly. Everyone thoguht so, but apparently it's coming out on Steam and Gog and stuff and they're evne planning a Linux verison if it pushes any copies at all.

What? Why? Euro is worth more. The same number but in Euro will mean a higher price. And you can pay in any currency, which your bank will automatically convert anyway (on the scale of a 20 bux your convertation losses will be in single pennies).

Nigger can you even read? It will be coming out in fucking Linux and you expect this to be W10-only?

The official Steam/GOG page and the official Dev page says it supports 7/8/8.1/10
The game is being published by StudioMDHR not Microsoft

>>389032920

I was under the impression too, but turns out it isn't.

They were getting cross-promoted as a Microsoft "exclusive", so everyone just assumed it was yet another Win10/WinStore exclusive.

As far as I recall, GOG doesn't do that, it uses USD as a base and then converts from there charging you the equivalent in your currency.

For games like the witcher series where they're obligated by distributors to sell at RRP they give in-store credit back.

$20 AUD is way less than $20 USD (about 15.79 USD).

Dean: I've watched the comments on this thread just to see how mean they would be. I think it's useful to show my gameplay experience. I did not intentionally play poorly to "troll" anyone. But it serves as an interesting social experiment. I walk into a game cold, and this is the play that results. The video shows it's a notch more difficult than your typical Mario game. In fact, if you are expecting Mario, as the story says, then you are thrown off. And it shows that the developers are going to leave a lot of people who are worse than me behind. Maybe they're fine with that. Maybe they want to target gamers with a love for difficult games. That's fine. But I think they should signal that. How many games actually come with a tutorial these days? They're not popular. But if it's necessary, that is a signal this is going to require some skill. As for other comments on this thread, I wonder why they are hostile to someone who is viewing the game as a beginner? Are we that intolerant of people who are not "gamers"? Should I have played the scene over and over again until I was good at it, and then turned the recording on, like so many of those perfect video walkthroughs you see? I believe that games can be made accessible and inviting to people who are not hardcore fans, and these people can be accommodated inside the same game that is appealing to hardcore fans, through difficulty levels. So when people tell me that I shouldn't be playing this game because, on my first play, I was pretty lousy -- that's an attitude that argues that games should be shut off in their own little corner, only played publicly by the masters and the experts. I disagree with that view entirely, and I believe it leads to elitist attitudes that allow gamers to look down on other people, and that only leads to a more fragmented world of haters.

What's so good about it?

First of all the game looks mediocre at best so let's move on from ths.

Secondly the animation isn't anything special. Right now you have thousands of japanese in-betweeners working in sweat-shop studios making drawings that are much more complex than those, and at a quicker pace since they get paid by page.
Not to mention the Storyboard artist and Key Animators who have to think of composition and weird perspectives and angles, not just a bland asset always pointing to a side that they put on top of a 2D background like Cuphead.

Of course I could've mentioned the greats that worked in cell-era Disney, but my point is that even below minimum wage workin' korean/japanese young college dropouts put more effort than this shitty indie game's dev. Neither one of them should be glorified, they are just doing their job. I don't see your dicks getting hard for middle-of-the-road programmers or background artists, so why would a key animator be any more interesting?

Clearly as developers they are a mess and don't deserve your money. Their workflow is absolute shit, they took ages to get anywhere probably because they don't have enough animators, so their style of animation is ill-suited for their ambition, funds and team size. Then they buckled under pressure and made levels instead of a pure boss-rush game like they wanted to originally, just goes to show their vision is weak.
Now it's pretty clear the game will suffer for it, not that the boss battles were any better than fucking CastleCrashers (a literal flash Newgrounds game) in the first place, but with the boring levels they forcibly added on top further decrease the overall quality.

How much does this piece of shit cost again?
