I mean, land barely had any new mechanics. I'll admit 'platforms reacting to your jump' is a really great one though
but other than that, uninspired levels, barely any new enemies, little to no variation, probably the most rehashed bosses in the series (at least the koopalings are 7 different characters, this games has 3)

Hell yeah it is.
I never understood the hate for the game. It is everything that makes the 2D Mario games feel good put into a 3D setting. The graphics and stages are colorful and unique, the levels are clever, the multiplayer is a blast, the music is the best music in a Mario game, and the challenge gets really good for those that challenge themselves.
This is a 10/10 game. There are 0 flaws. I honestly can't think of any. Some say cat suit like >>389015846, but the power-up is really well used and many levels use the mobility it gives the cast to hide stars and stamps. It is an example of the pure fun that video games can be, and that many strive to achieve.

There was no mention of the game's quality, just whether or not the games are real 3D Mario games. A real 3D Mario game is a traditional 3D Mario game that follows the formula established by Super Mario 64. While the Galaxy games don't have that open, sandbox structure of 64 and Sunshine, they still share most of the same mechanics and gameplay styles unlike the 3D Land and World.
