Nah. The basic act of shooting and kicking in re4 is outright more interesting and polished than the methodical dodging and shooting of re1-3, so even though I still really enjoy the original trilogy, there's nothing wrong with just liking RE4.

Look buddy if you're looking for an essay I don't have it. RE5 just has worse encounters and setpieces, enemy layouts and weapon balance, level motifs and goals. It feels like a cheap copy at its soul. The most obvious thing I can remember is simply the inclusion of gun enemies. They just don't fit with the controls. They feel grubby and beg you to exploit their AI and overall feel shitty to fight.
