Has anyone here bought a movie on Steam?

I haven't, but I heard you don't even download a file or anything, you stream it.
You're paying so you can stream it from Steam.

You mean exactly like every other streaming service?
I know a guy who bought The Hateful Eight, but beyond that I dont know
This is something I'd like to know myself, is there really a big enough market of people buying these that more studios are gonna put their movies on Steam? Because for a while it was all anime and weird indie arthouse stuff.

Pretty much, but since Steam is not a "streaming service", one would think they'd let you download the movie to watch it offline or something.

You might, but I would expect one to understand that the mechanics of online distribution of motion pictures has more to do with the MPAA and its respective industry than the business model of a give retailer.

Well, yeah.
MY POINT IS why even buy movies on Steam, if you're just gonna stream them anyway? Just use Netflix or hell, just pirate it in that case.

Same reason anyone uses Steam at all. Convenience.
>>388984287
>bought
isn't it just a rental
>>388985125
Good point.
>>388984287
>paying to stream
>>388984287
>buying movies
>buying media
>>388985143
They do both.

I rented the AVGN when it was on sale, he can keep the money. I had fun.

>paying money for digital media
there is nothing more pointless
